We are proud to announce a collaboration with D’Arcy Moses on the FurtherTM by Cahill Fashion and Home Décor collection, bringing his years of fashion design experience and a unique Indigenous perspective to take the FurtherTM collection to new levels.
D’Arcy is an Indigenous Dene originally from the Pehdzeh Ki First Nation, a small community in the Mackenzie Mountains in Canada’s Northwest Territories. His name has been synonymous with Indigenous fashion for over three decades throughout Canada and the United States through women’s couture fashion, working with traditional hides and fur, wool fabrics and more recently, applying the use of digital technology to his work.
In collaboration with the FurtherTM by Cahill design team, D’Arcy is creating custom embroidery to accent the Further Fashion, Home Décor and Accessory collections produced with upcycled vintage furs.
“Fur is an important part of First Nations’ history in Canada. The use of vintage and heirloom furs in the FurtherTMTM collection is a wonderful way to pay respect to the wildlife that used to keep people warm for decades. These garments that are now hanging in closets not being utilized are given new life as stylish fashions and beautifully crafted home accessories.” D’Arcy J. Moses, NWT
The D’Arcy Moses for FurtherTMTM collection features his unique embroidery treatments inspired by original Dene beadwork patterns from his Mother and Grandmother.
The D’Arcy Moses Four Directions for FurtherTM Collection of Wearable Accessories and Home Decor features Indigenous design with the First Nations Four Directions symbolism that represents a balance in Life, Nature, Cultures and the Four Elements of this Planet.
We will soon launch our capsule collection of the D’Arcy Moses for FurtherTM Collection Here.
